How illustration generates business: Your sales funnel may be refined. But if they don’t know it exists…how will they engage?
The correct illustration presented with Professional Graphic Design can really make an Impact with your audience to investigate what you stand for, your products and your services. In 2012 I was honored to be chosen by Swiss giant Leica Geosystems to market their products.
To establish product awareness with everyday builders and professional shop fitters. My initial market research which included going onto various building sites and chatting with the guys on site informed me that their preferred choice of laser measurer was one of Leica’s main competitors.
1) Working live over Skype with Leica’s European Marketing Team I illustrated their current range of laser distance measurers in the style of “Transformer” robots. Once completed I used graphic design and illustration in several ways to help market their products. For the first I designed a two page spread in Shop Spec, an annual publication for professional shopfitters. I also went on a location shoot in Central London to a building site in order to get the backdrop you can see in the ad.
2) My second solution was to have these illustrations turned into giant sized promotional cutout stands for Leica to use at trade shows (Pictures Coming Soon!)
The short-term outcome was an impressively increased interest which had a positive Impact in their sales leads enabling Leica’s sales team to close sales. Figures will be posted soon. As a result of this I also helped market their Paris based sister company Agatec’s range of lasers.
